The Bangkok International School Athletics League (BISAL) was established with the goal of fostering a love for sportsmanship and competition between schools. We achieve this by organizing sporting events that create a positive, mindful, and inclusive environment.

Membership Guidelines & Responsibilities

All schools involved in BISAL-organized events must share and support the league's Aims and Vision.

• Each school needs a designated point person, such as an Athletic Director or qualified PE Teacher.
• Schools must have access to safe and appropriate facilities to host or co-host BISAL tournaments.
• A coach or qualified adult supervisor must accompany each team to all fixtures.
• Schools are expected to participate in at least three of the core sports across two or three age categories throughout the academic year.

Fee Structure & Deadlines

All schools joining BISAL will be charged an annual fee of ... Thai Baht. This fee reflects the established infrastructure, including venue rentals, referee costs, trophies/medals, and digital platforms.

Schools with fewer than three sports teams can join BISAL by paying a partial membership fee of ... Thai Baht per age category.

All payments must be received by ... (school working hours). To ensure timely payments, a late fee of ... Thai Baht will be applied to memberships renewed after this date. Members will have a grace period until ... to settle the payment and late fee. After this date, the school will NOT be allowed to join any tournaments or fixtures.

Age Groupings & Eligibility

Players are categorized by their age on ... of the current academic year. Students can compete in an older age group ("play up") but are not allowed to compete in a younger age group unless formally evaluated and approved for basic-level skill exceptions.

Tournament Formats & Procedures

Tournaments will follow standardized bracket alignments to ensure uniform competition across the league.

• 3 to 5 Teams: Round Robin format. Each team plays each other in a league-style event. No requirement for a final.
• 6 Teams: 2 Pools of 3 teams. Cross-over semi-finals (1st Pool A vs 2nd Pool B). 3rd place in groups play each other at the same time as the final.
• 8 Teams: 2 Pools of 4 teams. Cross-over semi-finals. 3rd in groups play each other, and 4th vs 4th.

Respect & Code of Conduct

BISAL is committed to fostering a positive and respectful environment for everyone involved.

Coaches & Teachers

Public criticism of officials is strictly prohibited. Entering the field of play without the referee's permission is not allowed. Violations may result in a one-year ban from coaching in BISAL events.

Players

Players must follow the referee's instructions and avoid questioning decisions. Cheating, complaining, or wasting time are unacceptable behaviors. Sportsmanship includes shaking hands with opponents and officials after the game.

Spectators

Schools are responsible for the conduct of their attending spectators. Minor incidents will result in a warning to the school representative. Repeated offenses may result in team point deductions, spectator ejection, or disqualification from the event.

Health, Safety & Head Injury Protocol

Head Injury Action Plan

• Remove player from play immediately. Rest 15-30 minutes and apply ice.
• The Head of PE or Athletic Director must be informed regarding any symptomatic concussion cases.
• Return to sport will be gradual and monitored via the sports department after receipt of a doctor's medical clearance letter.

Illness Policy

Students feeling unwell should avoid BISAL tournaments. As a precaution, players with minor, non-contagious symptoms are permitted to wear masks while participating.

Conference Alignment

To accommodate league growth and optimize playing conditions, BISAL splits schools into geographical zones.
